I have suffered from constipation a lot in my adult life. It’s not really something we like to discuss with others, it’s a natural side affect of modern life but for some reason we don’t talk about it and we suffer in silence. Unfortunately constipation often leads to other complications like piles or hemorrhoids. This can lead to life altering discomfort. It’s not nice. So my solution is to prevent rather than cure. I don’t want to wait until I get constipation before I do something about it, I want to take action before I get it and so should you. Let me just say here before I go any further: if you have persistent or severe constipation you should see a doctor.
Personally I don’t like taking a lot of medication of things like this, especially if their is a more natural or homeopathic solution. My constipation is only occasional but just once can lead to me suffering from hemorrhoids for a few weeks before they calm down again.
This is also known as colon therapy. This is usually achieved by clinic irrigation, lots of hot water is flushed up your back side and then swilled back out again. It’s as unpleasant as it sounds and it is expensive. Personally I do not fancy this one bit.
Natural Colon Cleansing
This is what I’m looking for. I don’t see it being natural having a pipe shoved up your back end and the a load of water fired up there. - Avocados – mkae sure they are ripe or they are disgusting
- Flax and chia seeds
- Chlorophyll-rich greens – Plenty of Green fruits and vegetables
- Drinking More Water – This definitely works but be prepared for frequent trips to the loo 😉

Weight Loss – Having a more regular and comfortable bowel movement will help you lose weight. It takes away that lethargic feeling you get when you are constipated or bloated meaning you are more likely to workout. It also reduces water retention which can have a immediate effect on weight loss.
More energy – Like I said above it can give you more energy and lift your spirits. You will literally feel lighter and stronger! It get’s rid of the toxins that can build up in your bowels. This is also apparently helpful in preventing colon cancer.
